On the flip, the industrial leaning \"Remove Yourself\" brings a marked aggression to proceedings, as distorted bass meet with Cut Hands inspired afro-futurist rhythms, while \"Membranous Labyrinth\" closes the EP with a heavy slice of industrial drone in the Emptyset mould, slowly giving way to a thick, ominous kick drum. 'Under A Single Banner' consolidates the ductile reference points of his nebulous aliases, from cranky, club-crunching gear to noisier experiments, making for the bleakest definition of his sound to date. It's an uncannily tight fit with the Bed of Nails' aesthetic alongside Dominick Fernow's Rainforest Spiritual Enslavement and Vatican Shadow productions or Kris Lapke's Bronze Age, taking refuge in a no-mans-land of barbed rhythms and claggy ambient sound design at the nether region of noise and techno. Its nine tracks are split squarely between powerful club potential and immersive introspection: DJ\/dancers should be clambering for the unrepentant pummel of 'Pulse Incomplete' or the body-rolling torque of 'Burning Tyres' and jaw-wrenching closer, 'Wash Over Me', but equally, classic industrial fiends will appreciate the fine balance of empathic ambient and and textural sophistication that makes the title track and the rhythmic noise of 'Chrome, Canopy \u0026amp; Bursting Heart' so affective. For the most part, the project has been ian experiment in tonal dread and dankest atmospheres, but, here, submerged rhythms play a more prominent role, pacing anxiously below the dense murk of 'Upside Down Left Eye' or as a stodgy techno bedrock to the inclement conditions of 'The Spirit Wore The Shoes Of The Boy', or a sputtering, diesel powered chug to the noxious vibes of 'Black Magic Originated In Nature'. Factor the petrifying gloom of 'Spirit Companion Sick-Bed' and the unheimlich, exotic sonic ciphers of 'Malaysia Yellow Herbs' and you have one of the strongest releases on Hospital Productions yet. Between the bludgeoned doom techno of \"Skysweeper,\" the shell-strewn darkwave scenes of \"Man Is Ready\" and the Carpenter-esque adrenalizer, \"Immortality Is No Consolation for Death,\" Alberich finds a very specific line through heavy electronics, synth zones, and dread techno, and holds it to the last with a shell-shocked, eviscerated aesthetic most unlike any other. 'Vine Of The Soul' gets the Pact Infernal treatment - all rattling percussion and high drama, there's a sense of dread that dominates the atmosphere, but this time it's combined with a ghoulish operatic layer.
