Lifted from the murky depths of unreleased material for his 2008 LP Les Nymphes, Martin Rev sticks a smattering of choice early cuts on one EP. As always, the tones are deliciously implacable, a heady mixture of house grooves and experimental flourishes. The dense organs and popping synths of opener ‘Sophie Angel (Early Version)’ move with unstoppable forward momentum, as ‘Valley of the Butterfly (Early Version)’ plays out in an impressionistic wash of pseudo-industrial noise.
