With both offerings clocking in just shy of 10 minutes, Djrum has clearly used this release as an opportunity to flex some productional muscles and build floor-focused tangibility out of swarming ambient brilliance. Plantain demonstrates this structure perfectly, a swampy rainforest setting becomes the backdrop for a dystopian breakbeat crescendo. A similarly off-kilter DnB timeline plays out on the closer summarising the viewpoint of a producer who sees this craft as a discipline and an artform.
